The Maintenance Service Division (MSD) of SSSI is tasked with the responsibility of identifying, competing for, winning, and managing service contract programs. These programs call for providing customers a wide range of services including, but not limited to, fixed and rotary wing maintenance, logistic and technical support, training and engineering services, base operations support, vehicle and ground support equipment maintenance and service, back-up shop and depot maintenance, calibration services, etc.

SSSI's Maintenance Service Division (MSD) provides organizational, intermediate and limited depot maintenance support as well as logistic management and administration for F-5E and F-5F Adversary aircraft. They are based at Fighter Composite Reserve Thirteen (VFC-13) in Fallon, NV and Marine Fighter Squadron Training (VMFT-410) in Yuma, AZ. The F-5E and F-5F play the role of opposition forces for the US Naval aviators TOP GUN training exercises. SSSI also supports aircraft assigned to off station training detachments.

In mid 2000, SSSI's Maintenance Service Division (MSD) successfully completed a transition from the incumbent contractor at Fairchild Air Force Base located in Spokane, Washington. SSSI performs aircraft maintenance for UH-1 helicopters in support of the USAF Survival School mission as well as the Medical Evacuation and Search and Rescue missions of the 336th Training Group.

Services that SSSI provides for these units include aircraft on-equipment maintenance, engine on-equipment maintenance, and limited support equipment and back shop maintenance. SSSI is responsible for maintaining, servicing, launching, and recovering the aircraft located at these sites. In addition to providing maintenance and repairs to all unit assigned aircraft, SSSI also is responsible for off station recovery and repair of aircraft.

SSSI's Ft. Carson operation is dedicated to provide Primary Back-up Aviation unit maintenance (AVUM), Aviation Intermediate Maintenance (AVIM), and limited depot support to an air evacuation medical company consisting of 15 UH-60 aircraft. SSSI also provides AVUM, AVIM, and limited depot support to other aircraft based at FT Carson which include 18 UH-60, 4 EH-60, 2 UH-1, 16 AH-1, 20 OH-58, and 16 AH-64 Apache Attack aircraft. SSSI also provides transient aircraft maintenance for any US Government owned aircraft that require services at Butts Army Airfield.

SSSI is currently performing phase maintenance for all UH-60 Blackhawk and AH-64 Apache aircraft located at FT. Carson. SSSI has implemented many cost saving programs such as establishing local Blackhawk Main Rotor Blade refurbishment and hydraulic component overhaul capability. The local repair capability has dramatically reduced component turn around time at a considerably lower cost.
